I cannot hold back. This genealogy is just too creative for my taste and insinuates a lineage that is not provable. I wish it were so easy. However, it is Time line information of persons named not possible to prove or even to estimate in a meaningful way the parentage of Rollen Williams (b. 1802) from records that are widely available; I have been trying to do this for Time line information of persons named 20 years. I have spent hours going through every scrap of paper on the family at the Huxford library, countless days at the Florida archives, and long trips to interview cousins who Time line information of persons named might own some clue.

The Rowland, who was born in 1812 was a totally different person, who moved with his uncle William Williams to Colombia County, Florida at about the same time Time line information of persons named as our Rollen moved to Madison. The best authority on that line is Carrie Parler Gibson--who I have not had contact with for several years.

Additionally, it should be noted that there were Time line information of persons named two different Samuel Williamses living in Bulloch Co, GA in the 1820's.

Another problem is naming patterns; we have no Samuels among the descendants of Rollen Williams.

The clues may be out there Time line information of persons named. I believe that if we can look at land plats from Bulloch County, possibly Church records, connect in the Lewis family connection (i.e. we do know that the Time line information of persons named first wife of Rollen was Sussanah Lewis, the daughter of Abraham Lewis Jr.) --which we do know somehting about, there may be hope in solving the mystery of where Rollen Williams originates--but our Time line information of persons named Rollen was no son of Samuel Williams. We may never know.

Dear Cousins et al (I learned the et al part from Winkie),

Regarding the DAR project Winkie. It is not difficult to find connections that Time line information of persons named place kin in service during the revolution. The difficult part is to convince the various DAR committees that the information is accurate.

Here are 15 generations of Williams': Joshua (b ca 1996 Highlands Time line information of persons named County, Florida), Jeffery Wendell Williams (b December 29, 1960 in Avon Park, Florida), Wendell Winston Williams(b August 22, 1940 in Avon Park,

The original document showing this Rowland as the son of Samuel is on file in the Huxford Library in Homerville, Georgia. The date of birth for Rowland was 1812. This date has Time line information of persons named been crossed out and 1802 inserted with no documentation as to why this was done.

Dear Dan,

I a certain that I descend from a Rollen (several spellings) who settled in Time line information of persons named the Hickory Grove are of Madison County, Florida. Rollen and his wife, Susanna (Lewis I believe, daughter of Abraham Lewis Jr.) settled in the Hickory Grove area about 1828.

There is a marriage recorded Time line information of persons named in the Bulloch County, Georgia courthouse that shows that a couple by the above given names were united. I am not at present, completely certain that this is couple from which I descend Time line information of persons named. Only about 99.99% sure based on the date that people are using.

However, it appears to me that some date fudging may have done in order to make this Rollen fit Time line information of persons named the needs. Some records indicate that the Rollen above may have been born in 1812. If so, that will not meet the needs for my Rollen.

There may have been two Rollen Williams in Time line information of persons named the same family. As you know, there is nothing strange about naming two children in the same family in such a manner.

There are two other Rollen Williams type people in the Bulloch area Time line information of persons named. You are talking about one of those.

Dan,

I descend from the Rollen Williams that settled Time line information of persons named in the Hickory Grove area of Madison County, Florida in about 1828. His wife is listed as Susan in the census records of Madison County, Florida.

In Bulloch County, Georgia there is a marriage Time line information of persons named between a Rollen Williams and Sussanah Lewis. The date of the marriage and birth dates of children led me to believe that these are my kin. However, I am not 100% certain Time line information of persons named that this is my Rollen.

There are three other Rollens in the area. You have mentioned one. There could have been two children by the same name in the family of the Time line information of persons named Rollen who married Sussanah Lewis. There is also another Rollen in this area also.

I do descend from Rollen Lewis. There is some evidence that suggest to me the birth date Time line information of persons named of one Rollen has been changed to meet the needs of certain individuals. My Rollen could not have been born in 1812. That is the date shown in some of the records and Time line information of persons named in most cases that date has been changed to 1802. That change is OK if you have some evidence that warrants such a change. I have not seen such evidence.

Your Rollen is Time line information of persons named a better fit. I cannot tie us to him. One of my paragraphs got hairy. Maybe you can follow.

My Rowland Williams Time line information of persons named is supposed to be the son of Roland Williams, Sr., b. 3 Jan. 1785 in Effingham Co., Ga. and d. 30 Dec. 1813 in Bryan Co., Ga.

Roland, Sr.'s father was Samuel Williams, a Revolutionary soldier Time line information of persons named who was from Duplin (Sampson) Co., NC. Samuel's father was William Williams. The death date for Roland comes from "The Register of Deaths, Savannah, Ga, 1811-1818" and reads:

"Died Time line information of persons named 1815. 23 Feb. WILLIAMS, Roland 33 NC. Peasant. Pleurisy. Belonged to Capt. Benjamin Sanderlin's Company of Militia, immediately before he took sick. He died at & was buried from the Residence of his father, W. M Time line information of persons named. Williams, on Dr. M. Sheftall's Lot, Springhill leaving four children."

Carrie Parlor-Gibson (a researcher of the Williams Family) and I believe that the Newspaper was wrong when they said that his Time line information of persons named father was William. William died in the late 1790's in Screven Co., GA. Roland's father, Samuel and his wife, Delilah took in the orphans. On 1/1/1816, Elizabeth Calloway( and husband Time line information of persons named, Elijah) the sister of Roland's wife, Jean Banks (who died in 1812, at the birth of Rowland, Jr.) were granted guardianship of Elizabeth and Sampson. Rowland, Jr. stayed with his grandparents until Samuel died in Time line information of persons named 1817, when Samuel, Jr. was granted

guardianship of him. There was said to be another son, James, but no other mention of him has been found. In a letter that Rowland, Jr Time line information of persons named. wrote to his wife, Annie (SWEAT), in 1866, while he was in Georgia to visit the family, he mentions his sister, "Lizzie", and mentions the fact that his mother died at his Time line information of persons named birth and his father the following year.

Now, comes the kicker! In the DAR Patriot List- Centennial Edition, there was a Rowland Williams b. 1756 in NC d. 12-30-1813 GA m. Nellie Banks. (Carrie's aunt Time line information of persons named was granted membership under this Rowland)

Anyway, the information I have on William Williams is sketchy. Nothing much seems to be known about him except that he was born in Time line information of persons named Duplin Co., NC and he moved to Bulloch Co., GA, then to Screven (now Glynn Co) where he died abt. 1795. His wife's name was Mary Ward. They had sons, Samuel, Wilson, Seth and David Time line information of persons named. There were probably more, but I don't know their names.

Samuel Williams was born in 1759 in Duplin Co., NC. He married Delilah Neville, d/o of John Neville Time line information of persons named. The family moved to Effingham (now Bulloch) Co., GA after the Revolutionary War. Samuel served in that War. He was an Ensign in the Effingham County Militia from 1793 to 1796. When Samuel died in 1817, he Time line information of persons named left no will, and Deliliah and her son, John, were appointed Administrators of his estate.

If I can be of more help, please let me know.
